The 50 points for CAT are derived from the performance in each of the three sections as follows: Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC) – 18 points, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) – 14 points, and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) – 18 points.The Personal Interview score, after standardization across multiple parameters, the final aggregate score will be prepared by using following parameters: PI Score (weight=48) CAT (weight=25) 10th Board (weight= 4) 12th Board (weight= 4) Bachelor’s (weight= 4) Diversity {Gender (Female & transgender)} (weight= 5) Work Experience (weight=10). The final offers of admission to candidates will be made strictly on the basis of rank within each category.

Admission Process

1. All candidates in the first shortlist (i.e. those who have selected IIM Visakhapatnam as one of their preferences in the CAT 2025 Registration form and also meet the minimum CAT 2025 percentile requirements given in Table-1 above) would be receiving an email from IIM Visakhapatnam by the third week of January 2025, with a link to a web page where they MUST apply for admission to PGP 2026-28 at IIM Visakhapatnam, by a stipulated date and time by filling a detailed online application form, which will be used for the purpose of Personal Interview to the shortlisted candidates. 2. All Phase-1 Shortlisted Candidates will be invited to submit a detailed online application as stated above. The application form includes a Statement of Purpose, details of semester wise / year wise marks in bachelor’s degree etc., copies of all academic transcripts and certificates, copies of work experience certificates (if applicable), certificate of disability (if applicable), Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) /Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) / other backward class – non-creamy layer (NC-OBC) certificate (if applicable). 3. In the Phase-1 online application form, candidate information from CAT will be pre-filled. Candidate can modify certain details such as Graduation and Work experience. 4. In order to prepare the Phase-2 shortlist, the candidates' percentage scores in the 10th and 12th Board exams are initially adjusted by dividing each such score by the 90th percentile score obtained in that Board.For all qualified confirmed candidates, the maximum score between the work experience score and the "professional course" score is considered for selection under the common parameter of work experience. 5. Only those Phase-2 shortlisted candidates who have submitted the personal interview consent form by the due date will be considered for the personal interview stage in Phase-3 as described in points 18 and 19 below. 6. Candidates should note that those who are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) by any of the IIMs*—Bangalore, Kozhikode, Lucknow, and Indore (applicable only for their PGP/PGPM programs), will not be required to attend a separate Personal Interview at IIM Visakhapatnam. For such candidates, the average of their PI scores, as provided by the aforementioned IIMs, will be used as their PI score for the IIM Visakhapatnam PGP 2026-28 admission process. 7. Candidates who are not shortlisted by any of the IIMs at Bangalore, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Indore (only for their PGP/PGPM programs) will be required to appear for a personal interview of IIM Visakhapatnam.

Post – Graduate Program in Management for the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions of National Importance (PGPMCI) - 2 yrs

Eligibility Criteria

There will be two modules in the program. Below are the eligibility criteria for both the modules: Module-1: Diploma in Business Management (DBM) 6th, 7th or 8th semester BE/BTech (any branch); and Semester 2nd, 3rd or 4th semester ME/MTech/MSc.(Tech) [or Equivalent] (any branch) students of PTIs (OR) Alumni of PTIs are also eligible. However, this will be limited to the BE/BTech/MTech/ MSc.(Tech) [or equivalent] degree holders of the PTIs from the current year and the immediately preceding year batches only. (OR) Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) Fellows (graduates of certificate program in public policy and management from 9 different IIMs) of most recently graduated batch. (AND) The candidates who have the above specified qualifications and satisfy the following cut-off percentages (GPA) criteria with respect to their category will be eligible for the further admission process. Category Cut-off Percentage* Unreserved (General) 50% EWS 45% NC-OBC 45% SC 40% ST 40% PwD 40%. Module-2: Master of Business Administration (MBA)* - Successful completion of Module-1. (AND) BE/BTech or ME/MTech/M.Sc. (Tech) Graduates from Partnering Technical Institutions (PTIs).*The detailed admission criteria for Module-2 will be notified at a later stage.

Selection Process

1. Online Application: All applicants are required to submit an online application form along with a Statement of Purpose (SoP) and the necessary supporting documents. Aptitude Test: The Institute, in collaboration with PTIs and/or a reputable third-party agency, will conduct a proctored online test to assess all the eligible participants. Note: Candidates who have the valid test score of either CAT/GRE/GMAT will be exempted from appearing in the PGPMCI Aptitude Test. Preparation of Merit List for Final Selection: 2. The merit list for final selection will be prepared based on the following criteria:Class 10 Percentage=15, Class 12 Percentage=15, UG/PG Percentage=30, Gender Diversity (Female & Transgender)=10, IIMV Aptitude Test/CAT/GRE/GMAT=30.

Executive Post – Graduate Diploma Program in Management (EPGDPM) - 1 yr

Eligibility Criteria

Employment: Applicants must be on the regular rolls (full-time employment) of Department of Defence Production (DDP) (Ministry of Defence, GoI), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), or Private defence sector enterprises. (AND) Educational Qualification: A recognized Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. (AND) Work Experience: A minimum of five years of full-time work experience after graduation at the officer/executive level or above (part-time, clerical, or apprenticeship roles will not be considered as work experience for this program). (AND) Remaining Service Tenure (Applicable only to Government & PSU employees): At least 15 years of service remaining at the time of application. This requirement does not apply to private-sector applicants.

Selection Process

1. The selection process consists of the following stages: Shortlisting of Applicants: Candidates will first be shortlisted based on their fulfilment of the basic eligibility criteria. Online Selection Process: Shortlisted applicants will participate in an online selection process comprising: Online Proctored Aptitude Test: Administered by a reputed third-party provider, this objective test assesses - Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). The test will be 75 minutes long and will consist of 60 questions, with 20 questions in each section, each carrying 1 mark. There is no negative marking.All candidates who appear for the aptitude test will be invited to an online personal interaction with an expert panel. Statement of Purpose (SoP): The SoP (not exceeding 250 words) to be submitted by the applicants shall detail their interest in the program, and the anticipated benefits for themselves and their organizations. 2. The final merit list will be prepared based on:Score in Online Aptitude Test (Proctor based), Score in the Online Personal Interview, Evaluation of the Statement of Purpose (SoP).

Admission Process

1. Online Application Submission: All interested and eligible applicants, whether sponsored or self-financing, must complete an online application form available on the IIM Visakhapatnam website. 2. Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) - 2 yrs

Eligibility Criteria

The programme is open to Indian nationals residing in India only.The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Non Creamy Layer – Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 40% in case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The bachelor's degree obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or its equivalent. The applicant must have a minimum three years of post-qualification full-time work experience as on closing date of application as officer/executive level or higher, or as a professional, or as an entrepreneur. Part-time work experience, clerical (non-officer/ non-executive) experience, and apprenticeship will not be considered eligible work experience. There is no age limit for applying to the programme.

Selection Process

Admission to the programme is based on the composite score of performance in the EMAT and Personal Interview. The final composite score will be created based on 47.5% weight to EMAT score, 47.5% weight to PI and 5% will be awarded to Female and Transgender applicants

1. Shortlisting of candidates based on the eligibility criteria. The candidates will be shortlisted for the selection process based on the information provided in the online application form and supporting documents uploaded. The candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be called for Phase 2. 2. Executive Management Aptitude Test (EMAT) & Personal Interview. In this stage, a candidate would need to appear for an Executive Management Aptitude Test (EMAT)*. * (Candidates who may have appeared for CAT/GRE/GMAT and having valid test score can be exempted from appearing in EMAT) Appearing for EMAT/CAT/GRE/GMAT is a necessary but not a sufficient condition to be eligible for the Personal Interview (PI) round. The institute reserves the right to call a candidate for Personal Interview (PI). The number of candidates to be called for PI depends on the number of seats in the programme and the number of applicants. If the candidate is found to be absent for either EMAT or the Personal Interview, their profile will not be considered for the EMBA admissions process at IIM Visakhapatnam.
