The Department of Management Studies (DOMS) at IIT Madras has designed unique management programs to offer an integration of technical excellence with business leadership. The two-year MBA program, offered by the DOMS at IIT Madras, consists of 110 seats and welcomes applicants who have completed their undergraduate degrees and secured at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD categories) and have a valid CAT score. The MBA program engages graduates in a two-year residential study extending the analytical background of their undergraduate education. The two-year weekend MBA Executive program is designed for working professionals and allows for flexible education while maintaining rigour. The candidates must have a minimum of three years of work experience. The extent of the scheduling of the program allows for both a career and improved capacity for leadership. The intensive, one-year PGPEX-VLM program, offers accelerated personal development for professionals in manufacturing sector who are carefully trained and prepared for one year of residence study that develops their abilities to achieve excellence in their operations and develop the capabilities to be a visionary leader for their manufacturing company. In collaboration with the top Indian Business Schools, PGPEX-VLM is structured for engineers from manufacturing companies with either provided academic performance and between 4.5 - 10 years of experience. These three program areas also take advantage of the technical environment of the IIT Madras ecosystem and combine the management concepts that are taught with application and provide a curriculum that balances theory, concepts, and skills to resolve business problem scenarios using data to make decisions and explore innovation management while developing into a capable leader who can cope with the interests of those that impact on technology and management.
