Birla Institute of Management Technology was founded in 1988 under the auspices of the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, with backing from the Birla group of corporations. The late Basant Kumar Birla and Sarala Birla, chairman of the B K Birla Group of Companies, founded the business school. Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), with its wholly residential campus in the National Capital Region, is one of India's best MBA institutes.
